|One of the more frustrating jobs while balancing the Throttle Bodies on a BMW R11xx is trying to precisely adjust the small knurled cable end in order to get an accurate sync. In most cases you can't even get your fingers on it easily. Even more frustrating is trying to hold it and tighten the 10mm locknut underneath after the adjustment has been made. It ends up being very time consuming and often with a less than perfect result. |
The knurled aluminum Throttle Body Adjusting Ring pictured above is a very simple, elegant and inexpensive solution to the problem. It simply slips over the existing adjuster and allows you greater control based on its 25mm diameter. It also makes it much easier to hold the adjustment while tightening the locknut.
It takes less than a minute to install and can be left on permanently. It comes complete with an installed set screw which firmly holds it in place. Since most of the adjustment is done to the right side throttle body only, one Ring is essential even though you may want a second for setting the cable free play on the left side.
